We’re now into the third month of 2022 and are things getting back to normal?

The Section’s January Winter Talk, by mutual consent, was cancelled as being too high a risk with Covid still swirling round. Even in hindsight this was the right decision.  There were a few low-profile short notice events that were covered on Facebook but getting the full calendar back on track has taken a little time.

The second Winter Talk did take place and was a presentation about Mike & Lesley and Bob & Susan’s epic road trip to Scotland during the height of Summer (remember Summer?). Reflecting the plethora of photographs and anecdotes from the tour, the presentation was titled ‘Too much information – A Summer trip’.

March saw David Steven’s entertaining Winter Talk, ‘Puncture? Don’t let it get you down', in which David outlined his two recent puncture experiences and what he learnt from each of them. This was both an amusing and informative look at the benefits of carrying a can of Holts Tyreweld but not necessarily depending on the RAC!
Sunday, March 13, saw the first fully functioning Club ride-out of the year with the annual Breakfast Meeting at Redhill Aerodrome. The event was well attended with Mike and Lesly leading a ride from Alton Station for those keen enough for a 8.45 start. 10 riders managed to squeeze around a table for a full English.
There is an increasing number of events in the pipeline so watch your email inbox for Erica’s regular postings.
